In my own words:

Over thirty years ago I was in a car accident (head on) & although the seat belt kept me alive, it ruptured parts of my intestines & ilium. I don't have a colostomy but, because several feet of my colon & ilium were removed, I sometimes have bowel issues. When my stress level is high, I'm compromised as far as bowel control. To say the least, this can lead to some embarrassing moments. I don't let my situation stop me from being a productive person, as I work & am married. By choice, I try to live life as a survivor & NOT a victim.
